Mysterious Place, Mysterious Excavation! It seems to me, after reading a little, that André started this excavation to have a reason to be in the area, so that he could meet a woman he possibly had a crush on, or at least was very good friends with, and who lived some distance away. How that whole business turned out, we have to research further, but in any case he created a special opening into the mountain. Sweet story!!
