The ride was comfortable and convenient, but the price was quite expensive at $36 for a 20-minute trip. Still, it’s a fast and efficient way to travel.
Train station is reasonably easy to find for those arriving at Arlanda for the first time. You can also take the airport trolley all the way down to the tracks if you have a lot of luggage.
Took the “normal train” but got scammed basically, the slower train is more expensive than the arlanda express voor students. You cant buy at a machine, you need to go to a person that gives the slow train and high price
Minus stars if I could, but Google forces me to give atleast one, so here you go, enjoy it.nnWe already had valid train tickets ≈ 4€ each. Silly us, thinking that meant we could actually use the train station. Nope. At the station gate they demanded an extra 147 SEK per person ≈ 14€ just to walk through a door. For three people that’s 590 SEK ≈ 52€, not for a ride, not for a service, just for the honor of stepping onto the platform.nnThis isn’t transport. This is straight-up extortion dressed up as infrastructure. A turnstile shakedown. A scam so shameless it makes airport food prices look like charity work.nnAnd since nobody bothered to put up a single clear explanation in English, here’s a free PSA for all future tourists:nn Don’t pay like idiots like we did.n Get off one stop earlier in Märsta and take the bus.n Book a taxi.n Or better yet, just slip through the gate behind someone else, because paying this fee is basically volunteering to get mugged.nnSo, Sweden what a heartwarming farewell gift robbing your visitors blind on the way out. Nothing says “come back soon” like a legalized scam at the exit door.
While returning from the Stockholm city train station, I was stopped by Halima at the gate at Arlanda C station for a ticket check. I was then informed that I needed to pay an additional airport fee. As a tourist unfamiliar with the local regulations, I politely asked for clarification- how much it was, and why I wasn’t informed about it when I purchased my ticket at the central station because i would pay directly.nnInstead of explaining the policy calmly and professionally, Halima became extremely rude, loud, and dismissive. She mentioned that “ you can’t listen this is your problem, you pay now or go where you came from”. I was shocked. She responded aggressively, raised her voice in front of other passengers, and created a very uncomfortable and embarrassing scene. Her behavior was far from professional and did not reflect the respectful standard of service I experienced throughout my travels in Sweden.nnI want to emphasize that, apart from this incident, every other staff member I encountered at Swedish train stations was kind, helpful, and courteous. Unfortunately, Halima’s conduct was a disappointing exception.nnI hope this feedback is taken seriously, as no customer should be treated this way—especially when simply asking for clarification.
