Borensberg sluss (Göta kanal)

Boresnsberg is a small town with less population. Do not miss to take the Göta canal ship and cycling along the banks of the canal which is a very good experience. You have restaurant and resting places all along until Motala.

This lock is truly something special. It's one of the very few locks still operated by hand.nnThe difference in elevation isn't that great, but it's still truly impressive.nnThe famous Hotel Götakanal is located right next to the lock, an additional highlight.nnIt's a great place to stroll and enjoy the Göta Canal.nnA real highlight is when the Juno is locked through. The ship just barely fits into the lock. Since the Juno doesn't arrive in Borenberg until the evening on its way to Gothenburg, you have the opportunity to take a leisurely look around. There are few onlookers here then.

It's exciting to watch a lock pass here. There's not just the lock, but also a drawbridge being raised.nThe surroundings are also picturesque.nWhat we didn't like so much was that it was quite crowded and lots of tour buses were arriving.

The bridge opened, so we had a nice view of the boat that had to pass through.
