Hotell Skinnargarden Malung

Very average hotel and good for the price. Don't expect luxury, but I think only a fool would expect that for the low price you pay. The rooms are clean, staff is friendly, breakfast has a good variety. And the wifi connection was really good - no interruptions whatsoever when watching Netflix. The hotel building itself looks abandoned but I think the place was bought not many months ago and the current owners are renovating rooms one by one. Anyways, the renovated rooms don't give off the feeling of being in an ugly building, which is what matters. The only negative thing I have to say is, that the walls are very thin so you can hear mumbling through the walls when your neighbours are talking and it's pretty loud when others around you turn on their shower.

Nice calm place to stay with good breakfast in the town centre. Professional staff .

Unfortunately a miserable place that I will never return to. Had booked three nights, but left after two because we couldn't stand it.nn- A musty smell is present in almost the entire hotel and it got even worse in the corridor where our room was. Really disgusting!nn- The hotel is unmanned and it feels almost ghostly to enter there in the evening with an empty reception and various bounced furniture that doesn't create any context.n- In the pictures the rooms look okay, but in reality it was different. Ours was really dingy and my daughter refused to use the incredibly small and unfresh shower.n- In short, this ruined our skiing holiday as we had planned to use the hotel as a starting point. Coming back to the terrible smell and the completely miserable atmosphere after being out for a whole day was too much. Would not recommend in any way. I feel cheated.

Didn't think it was as bad as the other reviews said but they were just that bad. Also, the heater wasn't working and the window was wide open when we arrived. With -20 degrees outside the room was quite chilly. But the window could be closed and we got a heater that heated like a sauna heater, but in the morning it was still only a couple of degrees above zero and the walls and floors were still freezing cold. But it was cheaper than the ice hotel in Jukkasjärvi and was very centrally located though in Malung.
