I went there with my 5 month old daughter. We are from Germany and i think they are really good organised. First i had to take a number and they differ between children and adults .. maybe to have the children doctor there, maybe you get treated faster. We could directly go to a cabin for our own so you dont get in touch with otjer maybe infected patients. Directly there were nurses who took the first test and asked the first questions. Then after a while a childs doctor came who could even speak germen. Of course, in total we were there maybe an hr but it felt lik there were always people having an eye on us.
What’s the point of having an emergency service, if they don’t serve on emergency basis. My wife is pregnant and having some serious pain and bleeding and we are waiting at the emergency for about an hour no one is coming yet to see us. !!
I am writing about a visit to the Karlstad Hospital Emergency Room that I visited with my ex husband in October of 2020. I drove him there in the early morning hours around 2:00 am. You see I’ve worked in the ER as a licensed practical nurse I knew something was terribly wrong. One doesn’t drive 30 minutes in the middle of the night for no reason. My ex husband could no longer eat anything. Then he started to have severe hiccups lasting 30 minutes or more due to the sores in his throat. He could only take a few sips of water and he was becoming dehydrated. He hadn’t been able to sleep but for a few minutes here and there. He had severe pain in his bladder when he had to urinate. He was on an antibiotic that did not seem to be working for the bladder infection. We waited for hours before a doctor came to see him. She did no tests. She did not look in his throat. She did palpate his bladder. She said there is nothing to be done to help you. You are not having an emergency situation. You should not have come here.nnTwo days later he called his doctor. He was admitted to the hospital for severe dehydration and pain relief. It took 5 days before a culture was done to find that the antibiotic was not effective against the bacteria. He also had a 2 cm bladder stone that can be extremely painful. He died 10 days after being admitted to the hospital. He had an MRI in July that clearly showed the bladder stone that a doctor failed to see. He was unfortunate to get care from some of Karlstad’s most ignorant doctors.nThe emergency room doctor needs to return to school to study more before she attends to more citizens of Sweden since she was not interested in carrying out any tests to find the cause of the pain.
Extremely bad waited for 5 hours, I was hungry and cold. The nurses sat in their room. The ambulance car and staff was very fast and polite. The hospital staff not so much. I'll rather sow up a wound myself then go there again. I'd do it faster and cheaper, that's for sure
Very good doctors and nurses
