Munkedals järnväg

My boys are HUGE train fans so this was a hit! You get to ride on the train to the old dock in Munkedal and then back to a little museum which focuses on the history of the railway there. Interesting for both big and small. They serve waffles and coffee/tea at the train station.

Nice little railroad, the museum don't have much on show, so go on a day when you can take a ride along the railway

A fun experience for young and old. You travel on a three-car train pulled by a lovely rumbling diesel locomotive back and forth to Munkedal harbour. On the return journey, the train passes Åstorp and continues to Munkedals nedre where a visit to the museum awaits before returning to Åstorp. All in all, it takes just over an hour. At Åstorp there is the opportunity to buy coffee and also reasonably priced souvenirs. The train runs one day a week during the summer, check their website for times. There is also a steam locomotive that will hopefully be used in the future.
