September 2023 Hard coal is found in a few places in Sweden, including here in Nyvång, hard coal was mined at a depth of about 90 m between the years 1911 and 1966. There are about 50 miles of tunnels under the community, see the photo. We received a very pleasant and informative guided tour of the business, also an interesting film screening about the working conditions that prevailed. Many thanks to Jan for the fine guidance. We will be happy to visit again.
