Great views, unfortunately it was so cold, I could barely stay in the balcony for 1min. Be well equipped before going there as the wind is strong and cold. During summer hours, you won’t be able to see the northern lights at the top as the sunset will be after 10pm. But I enjoyed the views. No need to buy tickets in advance.
One of the top attractions here. Worthwhile visit. You can purchase one way ticket and walk the treacherous path down or purchase round trip ticket. Plenty of hiking opportunities at the top.
We were planning on a light lunch at the top but unfortunately the day we went up the restaurant was open but had no food available that day. Besides that it was a great morning and easy walk across the bridge if your staying in the centre and the price is not unreasonable. There’s a nice viewing area that is accessible but if you want some amazing views go the opposite direction and make your way across the snow to get a much better fjord view. It can be slippery.
Cable car costs about USD40 round trip. I visited in the morning, the line to buy tickets was about 15 min. The view from the top is great. There is a coffee shop at the top.
Quick ride to the top with the cable car. Possibility to walk to the top, which is quite steep hill in the end. Amazing views over Tromsa. The place to be for northern lights, though we saw them only after coming down from the hill.Besøkte stedetPå en offentlig fridagVentetidOpptil 10 minForhåndsbestilling anbefalesJa
NOK415 for 3-minutes cable car ride one way was rather pricey but what's not pricey in Tromso? If you decide to take the ride up, it better be in the evening because the night view of the town is breathtaking from up there. Also, if you're fortunate enough, you may catch the northern light too like some of the others did. The restaurant was packed so I didn't get a chance to taste any food or drink.
The trip is about 2 mins for one way, and it gets really crowded. Amazing view from the top, especially if you go around sunset time and you can see the night view of Tromsø. There's a cafe and bar at the top, with over priced drinks which are to be expected. The cable car ride itself is about 40 euros for a round trip which might or might not be worth it.
Priced around 40USD to go up and down included. A bit pricey for a 3minutes ride on the cable car. Last cable car down was at midnight. The view from the top is amazing especially if you get to see the northern lights its definitely worth it!! By the way, this is the best spot to see the northern lights, went on a boat cruise too but this option is much better since it is very close to the center by car 5min instead of going on a boat for hours. Moreover the pics are much better from the top than from the boat cruise since the camera is stable not like on the boat which is moving. The good part too is that you can sit in the coffee shop on the top in the heat and when there are northern lights you’ll go out. So no need to wait in the cold for hours. Loved it so much and thank you!!!
Great views of the city. Had waited until the last gondola back down the mountain. Was lucky to see the Northern Lights from the bottom in the car parkBesøkte stedetPå en ukedagVentetidIngen ventetidForhåndsbestilling anbefalesJa
If you want to have the best view of Tromso, then Fjellheissen is the place you want to go and you can go there easily with cable car. It’s really recommended to buy your tickets way in advance! As they can get really crowded. The trip up was only a few minutes and up in the station you have a nice cafe to warm yourself up. The view was already breathtaking, but we were there around 13 a few days after winter solstice, and the ‘sunset’ coloured the sky made the view even more spectacular!
