Very interesting & an amazing feat of engineering. The canal tour would be worth doing if you have time. It wasn't operating when we were there due to the Mid-summer holiday.
A very nice and small place. You can also take a boat trip there. Is really recommended.
Beautiful place for a daytime trip. Take the boat o a tour through the many lo ks and small channels of even paddle through the locks yourself in canoe. The Dalsland Center has a lot of historic information and a good selection of nice souvenirs. Check the Laxbutik for a selection of amazingly smoked fish!
This is one of those places you have to visit before you die. Beautiful and an engineering marvel, especially if you consider it was built 200 years ago and still have the original parts!
Definitely worth a visit.
