BASTA - Italiensk Restaurang Uppsala

We were on a day tour to Uppsala, and walking we found this restaurant, so we entered without reservation.nThe decoration is incredible, from the plates, to the bar.nThe host informed us that the only available place is the high table right next to the host, but after some minutes they gave us a great table next to the kitchen.nEverything we chose was perfect, except the tiramisu, which was tasteless.nThe greek waitress was perfect and really friendly.nnps. they are pet friendly.

Was there with 15+ people and we got seatings in one corner of the resturant that was a bit screened off from rest of the restaurant that it almost felt like a chambre separee.nnWe had the group menu, and a huge amount of food was served. I really appreciated the staff offering doggy bags for all the leftovers which was quite a lot.nnThe food I had was generally ok, none really outstanding.

If you’re looking for a nice bite to eat at a sit-down restaurant in Uppsala, this is the spot. Make a reservation if you want outdoor seating since the view of Domkyrkan is magnificent.nnI ordered the salsiccia e formaggio pasta and loved it. What a great combination of ingredients. The creamy cheese sauce, long pasta noodles, spicy salami, fresh ruccola, and walnuts made a rich and satisfying dish with a nice bit of crunch. I also tried the Margherita pizza and it held up against pizza I’ve had in Italy. Very fresh tasting, Neapolitan-style, and perfectly cooked.nnIt’s also worth paying a little extra to get the focaccia bread. It was so doughy and fluffy, and the perfect addition to any order.nnThe vibe inside the restaurant is really fun and the service was very friendly and quick. I highly recommend eating here.

Big fan of the interior design here - the place is beautiful! Love all the colors and the vibennThe food is also great - nor super big portions but very filling once you finish what you have on the plate. They know their stuff!nnThe cocktail menu has some interesting and unique things that I am looking forward to trying but haven’t yetnnPro tip to all other restaurants:nBig ice cubes at the bottom of the glass and pebbled ice up top. Avoids over dilution and still looks pretty in a tall glass! The homemade lemonade was served this way and staid tasty all the way to the bottom of the glass

We stumbled upon Basta by accident — and we’re so happy we did! The interior decor is absolutely gorgeous, very grand and original, creating wonderful ambiance. The staff were very welcoming and kind, which added to the overall wonderful experience.nnWe started with their house-made lemonades lemon & mint, and strawberry & raspberry. Both were delicious and artfully presented — refreshing, balanced, and a perfect way to begin the meal.nnFor food, we had the bruschetta with burrata cheese, the carbonara, and a Neapolitan pizza. The bruschetta was very tasty, and the addition of the creamy burrata brought an extra richness and freshness that we loved.nnThe carbonara was absolutely phenomenal - the smell is enough to make you go crazy before you even dig in! And it didn’t disappoint. Creamy and flavorful, with a nice consistency that felt satisfying without being too heavy.nnThe Neapolitan pizza was nicely done, with a light, airy dough and a wonderfully crisp crust. The flavors were well-balanced, and the quality of the ingredients really stood out. It really felt like an authentic Italian pizza.nnWe also noticed that the dinnerware itself was really nice and authentically Italian, adding to the overall dining experience. Even the backs of the plates had markings showing they were made especially for the restaurant — a lovely touch that adds to the feel of exclusivity as you can see in the photos.nnOverall, this was a fantastic find and a highlight of our trip. We would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for great Italian-inspired food, beautiful ambiance, and warm, attentive service. We can’t wait to return!
