Kattholmen

We were really impressed by this lovely restaurant which is located in an old factory building in the middle of the harbour. Talking about the location, the interior is very stunning with mix of industrial style and lots of plants. It's a very fitting restaurant for this old industrial town!nnThe staff was also very attentive, especially our barman who helped us a lot with picking the right drinks! We even had a nice conversation about life and such!nnThe food was really nice. First time that I saw Loco Moco An Hawaiian dish in a restaurant, as I like to make this at home! The version here was delicious! The dishes my parents had were also very good. Portions are very big so don't worry about leaving hungry. Definitely the place to go to when in Gustavsberg!

Decent food with reasonable pricing set in a beautiful environment by the sea.nThe red wine braised beef cheek was very tender and the flavors were totally soaked into every bite of the dish. The grilled vegetables on top of the meat added freshness and sweetness to the dish. Even the side salad was not a boring one, they definitely put mind into preparing it. Plus the portions were generous.nThis old place is in industrial style, yet still offers delicacy, and really matches my aesthetic. The high ceilings and sea view gave me a feeling of relaxation. Dining in such an environment was a delight, especially the food was to my liking as well.

We spent the afternoon at Kattholmen and had the most wonderful time! The food was fresh and delicious, and they were so accommodating for our requests. The menu is modern, diverse and the seafood was excellent quality the best oysters I’ve eaten in Sweden so far. They had many gluten free options and even ice cream for dogs! We stayed at Kattholmen for 4 hours while we ate and drank our way through the menu. Our waiter, Desmond, had great knowledge on the food and wine. He recommended fantastic champagne, wine and whisky - and made sure the kitchen made our food gluten free. We absolutely had a 10/10 experience and we cannot fault anything. We are already looking forward to our next reservation! Also - we tried to make a reservation but they were fully booked for 2 weeks !!!. We were lucky to get a spontaneous table as we walked by, so be sure to make a reservation before you go :

Got a very cold reception from a waiter. Apparently I by mistake made a reservation for 2 instead of 3 counted our 2.5 year old in a separate reservation window and got scolded for that. Not sure why it mattered though given the restaurant was empty. We came for Easter lunch but were never shown the Easter menu which apparently existed. We were not checked on even once until it was time to take our plates. I first assumed that it’s because the waiter was unhappy to work on Easter hence the attitude, but then another group came and he was very nice with them, so I assume the problem was that we spoke English to him, which is strange for quite a touristy area. Anyways, foreigners, be aware that it might be not a place to go if you want a welcoming experience.
