My child and I were visiting Stockholm from Barcelona when she developed symptoms of an ear infection. After reading the reviews and being told by the Airbnb host that the medical system is on the verge of collapse here, I hesitated taking her to the ER but eventually did so because I was worried she wouldn’t be able to fly back due to cabin pressure on the ears.nnWe went at 8am and had to ask around to find the entrance to the ER. When we did, we took a number and waited. There were 15 people in front of us and the wait took about an hour. Then we went in and had our information taken by the nurse and waited some more. The wait inside took longer, about 3 hours. It was obvious that people with more severe issues were seen first. Halfway through, our pain reliever wore off and my child began to experience ear pain and a fever. I asked for some paracetamol for her and they quickly provided some.nnAfter 4 hours, we managed to see a doctor and received antibiotics which we had to pick up from a pharmacy about 15 mins walk away. All in all, we had a pretty pleasant experience. The wait is long but that’s normal for any ER in any country. Everyone we met has been helpful and spoke fluent English. They provided the documents I needed for an insurance claim on request. I don’t know why the bad reviews, but besides the wait, which is quite normal, nothing else came across as insufficient to me.nnAs a tourist who didn’t have an European health card because I didn’t bother to get one big mistake, I paid 250€. I am surprised that even local Swedes have to pay for medical visits. Coming from Spain where we get fully subsidized medical care, I ignorantly assumed that this would be the case throughout Europe but alas.

I visits so many times and best health care center ever. Specially nurses and doctors are so much helpful

It is very difficult in this moment to get any appointment in any of the vårdcentralen of Haninge Kommun. That is very frustrating and negative. However, I have to say that my experience with the barnmottagning in Haninge has been very very positive. The nurses and doctors are very qualified and experienced. They took care of my little one in the best way thinkable. I am very thankful for the care we have received.

The worst hospital ever with very rasict people. I called yesterday and i explained my problem to a lady, she said i cant book you time sice everything is booked. Call me tomorrow early morning, if its me i will recognize you and book you time, but unfortunally another lady picked up, i explained everything, she said we dont do that in this hospital, then i said i have a sore throat she said we dont even have anyone for that. Very racist!!!!! Just because i spoke english. theu booked time for my dad and he had the same problem as me, just because he can speak swedish.

There is a rather long waiting time involved when you go there, but this is to be expected since people arrive without appointment. They have always been able to help me when I needed urgent medical advice.
