We really enjoyed the restaurant and the wine pairing was amazing. We had two dinners and we can recommend, on the second evening there were some groups and what seemed to be a wedding, we were sat right next to them, and there was quite the noise, that could have been handled better, but it was not too inconvenient, just a nuisance.
Restaurant Sand in Båstad delivers a memorable dining experience in a beautifully ambient setting. The interior is warm and elegant, with just the right lighting for a cozy evening while still feeling upscale. The background music adds to the refined atmosphere without overpowering conversation, creating a perfect backdrop for a relaxed yet special meal.nnThe food is undoubtedly the star here. The dishes are thoughtfully plated and full of flavor. The chicken was tender and paired wonderfully with seasonal vegetables and a silky sauce. The beef dish was rich and perfectly cooked, complemented by a deep, savory jus and crispy potatoes. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in the quality of ingredients and presentation.nnHowever, the beverage service was noticeably lacking. While the wine selection looked promising, the actual service was slow, got mixed up and at times inattentive. It took longer than expected to get drinks, and follow-up refills or wine pairings weren’t proactively offered, which stood in contrast to the high standard of the food and general service.nnOverall, Sand is absolutely worth visiting for its food and ambiance—but a sharper, more attentive beverage service would make the experience truly exceptional.
Food was excellent and service was on point. The guy who waited our table was very attentive and always made sure that we got what we needed, and on time. I got the wine pairing with the tasting menu and that was very good. They seemed to be fully bookedwe were there between Christmas and NewYear’s, so reserving a table would be a good idea.
Sand was the restaurant we picked for our two-night stay at the hotel Skansen. This place was really fantastic. The interior, expansive, nicely decorated, warm and cozy. The staff, always kind and very relaxed. And the food, which was consistently delicious through the different dishes both nights. With our 3-course dinner we managed to try out pretty much all they had in the menu. It is really hard to pick a favorite as each dish had something incredibly good about it. The wine selection was also good, and in the second night we further enjoyed a couple of their fantastic cocktails.nThe restaurant also hosted the morning breakfast for the hotel guests. The selection was really wide, and also included freshlynMade or made-to-order warm dishes, like waffles, pancakes, eggs Benedict and omelette. As to be expected, attention to seasonality and local products was highlighted and very much appreciated! Definitely recommended.
I had multiple wonderful meals at Sand while in town for a business conference. I had breakfast every day as part of my stay at the Hotel Skansen and dinner twice. The staff were kind, courteous, and conversational. The location and the restaurant are beautiful.
