Söderköpings Brunn

Didn't quite meet expectations. Beautiful old building and interior design, including bar and restaurant. Room clean with basic furniture but a bit dull. Breakfast slightly above average, however time slot given in the welcome e-mail wasn't correct and cost us an hour of sleep. Staff asked me three times about my room number during breakfast. The major drawback: our room wasn't available on check-in time 3 pm and it took about an hour for the slightly too indifferent staff to offer some refreshments while waiting we ended up waiting for almost two hours. Simply not good enough for a hotel with ambitions.

Everything was perfect! I would give 20 out of 10 I was a solo traveler from South Korea visiting in 2022. You could guess how long the journey it is to get there and could be lonely a bit.n I haven't seen any solo traveller haha But they treated me kindly so much.nn-The room was cozy I chose a small roomnand good enoughn-The food was amazingn-All the staff I met were super friendly even the manager during the dinnernnThanks a lot againnI will bring this unforgettable memory to korea

An old classic place where it's pleasant to stop, even for a coffee or a drink. Food is above the neighborhood average, and so is the service. The winning card of the Brunn is its atmosphere, nostalgic and elegant

We were a larger party of 8 people, very varying ages and ways to think. Had 1 suite, 1 family room, 1 double room and 1 single room.nnThe rooms were all great, beds were soft and they had good commodities. They differed quite a lot however, as the hotel was divided into two attached buildings. The single and the suite were in the old, but newly renovated, part, while the double and family were in the annex. This means the double and family felt a bit more cramped.nnThe hotel itself is beautiful, it has a lot of character with old, original detailing. It's situated on and named after a well that was famous for its health inducing water, and they still have the old well encased in the floor of the lobby!nnThe food was very flavourful, and well thought out, but it felt like the bar and the restaurant area was understaffed. Before dinner it took about 20 min of waiting to get to order a drink in the bar, and the head waiter was nowhere to be seen when it was time to be placed at a table.nnDuring dinnertime a lot went wrong; we got one entree too many, 3 of our members got their mains a lot ahead of the rest of us, when we asked for another bottle of the same wine they gave us a bottle that was double the price without saying anything and we got one main too many. All this was honestly fine, but what made it a bit worse was that they never even once apologized, and by the end of it all the extra meals and the expensive wine bottle were still on the tab. We had not touched any of these and immediately sent them back.nnGood to know in general is that you can book a private room for your dinner if you so wish, and if you prefer to have the course menu you need to tell them ahead of time.nn--nnThe morning on the second day we went to the spa area. We made a mistake and hadn't checked when it opened ahead of time, so we were 30 min early, but an employee walked by and asked if we wanted her to open a bit early for us; very nice of them!nnWe had the spa area to ourselves thanks to this and it was a great experience. Very calming, with complimentary juice and fruit. They have steam sauna, dry sauna, bubble pool, rainforest shower, ice room and more. All over they had lit candles which made the atmosphere very cozy!nnSo some mishaps but all in all a good stay.

Very nice hotel just by the river in Söderköping center. It has a spa and an outdoor pool. The three course menus where superb. Breakfast had a bit fewer choices than usual but quality was higher.
