Vasteras Flight Museum

Luckily I was in town long enough since they are only open short hours on Sunday. Plenty of planes, helicopters, jet engines and instruments to check out. Even a Saab fight jet that is cut away to see the insides and you can sit in the cockpit.

Wonderful museum, well worth a visit! Personally, I would happily take a daytrip from Stockholm to go and see this! The airplanes cover quite a range from the early post-war period up to the last generation of Saabs, and there are amply diagrams and parts and open cockpits to really see what these planes are like up close.

Absolutely amazing simulator here. You can even fly a JAS Draken, MD80 and an Airbus A320.

Great museum offering an insight in Swedish military and civil planes. You could sit in the cabin of a jet fighter, look into the complexities of plane engineering and even walk onboard an air vessel that took part in the D-Day operation!nOr why not try yourself in there pilot's role at one of their realistic simulators.nFun and insightful place!
