Grinda Wärdshus

What a lovely place to take a break while exploring the beautiful island on foot. The service was friendly and quick. The food was very tasty, as was the local beer. We enjoyed every moment.

This place is beautiful, but the service is lousy. We stayed overnight during the week when there were two large corporate retreats taking place. They took up all the space and received all the attention. We were barely welcomed when we arrived and we were not able to be seated for lunch because the “kitchen was too busy” with the large groups.nnWe ate dinner at the restaurant, which was delicious- one of our best meals in Stockholm. The view from the terrace is unbeatable.nnBeware that it is a long walk from the ferry dock- do not bring a roller bag as it’s impossible to carry along the gravel road. Getting up to and into the hote rooms would also be difficult for those with motility issues. Breakfast in the morning was paltry.

I was there eating only.nnThe food was really good, you could tell the chef really enjoys his work!nThe location is very nice, the service was good.nnToilets were nice, but semi ventilation.

When I have been to Grinda, a beautiful island, I visited the Wärdshus for lunch. Service is ran by students mostly and was really slow and distracted. Food was okay.

Restaurant review only - you cannot beat the location and view, and the fact that the food was delicious was a bonus. Plan on spending a bit of time just waiting on service and your food, but we thought it was worth it.nnAs a vegetarian, I would say there were only a few options, but what I had was much better than I believed it would be based on reviews I had read rather than the asparagus risotto as your entree, I'd put together several small dishes. If you're staying for more than a day, then it might become a problem.
