A gorgeous modern art museum in a wonderful city worth visiting for the culture, food and people.nnThe modern building slightly away from downtown, easy to get to and without excessive lines.nnThere’s plenty of contemporary art that I love, including Braque, Kirchner, Bacon as well as some of the lesser known yet as important Tatlin and Kukryniksy.nnThe museum is spacious and a pleasure to walk around. Do come here if you get a chance.
During my short visit I saw Temporarily exhibition dedicated to German expressionism and the artist group of Brucke. organisation, richness of the exhibition was very impressive. Overall looks like a good place for tourists interested in modern art they constantly change their displays of artists’ works and local families. Worth a long visit of 2 hours + to explore all rooms. Cost 150Kr.
Really like this place by the way.nMe and daughter visited couple of times, museum and shop and cafe.nCoffee and cookies/ bagels, snacks were little expensive but ok.nAnd shop was the best part, you lot of interesting stuff from there.
Interesting collection of exhibitions, personal favourites were Vaginal Davis ‘Magnificent Product’ and Pink Sails ‘Swedish Modernism’. Lovely location as well, was nice to get glimpses outside windows of the surroundings.
Nice museum, with a lot of different exhibitions. Sometimes abstract, but not too difficult. Would recommend with kids as well. Kids have a free admission.
