If you are in Stockholm, you should give it a visit. At around 16€ entrance fee, it’s quite okay to spend some hours there. Some exhibitions change but the fixed collection is nice and interesting. It ranges from year 1500-2000. Especially if the weather is cold and rainy, it is a cozy atmosphere to spend some time there.
I made a big mistake when coming here. I assumed an hour would be enough to see a good chunk of the museum. Oh, but I was so very, very wrong.nnAfter asking one of the workers there, he advised me to start with the top floor, and then make my way down. This floor was incredible- as I imagine the rest of the museum is, too.nnThe amount of art here was astounding, and you could spend hours perusing the milieu of paintings and sculptures. There were a ton of beautiful paintings that would have been great on their own but were grouped with so many others of equal quality.nnUnfortunately, in my hour, I only barely finished the very top floor. And this was with me slightly rushing. So, definitely carve out a decent time block for this museum.nnAll of the art here is incredible and is one of the best art museums I have ever visited. Just make sure to spend enough time here!!
The museum is really good. Well designed organised and informative. The way the exhibits are displayed are amazing. Definitely worth visiting.nThe museum is free only on the last Sunday of every month and retaining days need tickets to purchase. Not required to purchase online, upon arrival one can buy it from the counter.
Really nice museum, the lady at the box office was very friendly, nice and helpful. The museum shows not only art work of Sweden, but also France, Italy and other works of Scandinavian countries. But be aware that they don't accept cash, even SEK, their national currency.
Absolutely worth a visit. The Musuem has mixed art including paintings, sculptures, ceramics, metal, apparel, every day items, music, tapestry, etc. It is displayed as periods of time and is very interesting to see how art developed and changed over time. For a quick walk through, estimate 2 hours but if you want to see everything properly, then it can easily take 5 hours. The restaurant has delicious fare and is set in a garden inside and is a lovely place for a bite or lunch. There are ample washrooms and free lockers for bags and coats. You cannot keep your luggage though.
