Restaurang Bergshotellet i Järvsö

Visited for a late lunch on a weekend. There was a short wait in line before we were allocated a table. On weekdays there is a lunch menu where there is normally a choice of meat, fish or vegan with a salad counter. Coffee and tea is included. We tried the ribs with pan fried small potatoes and seared smoked salmon that came with roughly mashed sour potatoes with dragon cream. The portions are adequate but as the meat/fish were dry or too salty, we were left hungry since we couldn't finish the food. Thankfully, the salad counter was free-flow although some of the dishes lacked freshness and didn't look very appealing.nnIn December, this restaurant is high traffic catering to the ski crowd and families. It has a large well-stocked bar, an open kitchen and a large restaurant area. Tables are well distanced. Staff is polite. Tables are disinfected in between changes. Good location on the slope.nnAir inside the restaurant is stuffy and lacks freshness. Lighting is on the dim end. Noise levels are high at lunch time.

Buffe lunch for 160sek. Oh dear, where to start. Food was really terrible. Self served all you can eat with bad or loss of taste and dry/overcooked. Vegetables was in dull colors and probobly many days old. The bread butter was in messy discusting pot that all people olayed in.nnThe atmosphere was a big room with high volume of running personnel and people. I can not recommend pay that amount of money for this terrible lunch experience.

Good food, non-existent service.nnWe were staying at the hotel, so going to this restaurant was a convenient for us. We didn't have a reservation, but we got a table quickly. Ordering drinks and food went smoothly and both came quickly. The food itself was ok, maybe a bit over-priced.nnAfter getting our food, our waiter completely disappeared, didn't come to pick up empty plates, refill water or ask if we would like more drinks or perhaps dessert. We would have been willing to take desserts as well, but after waiting long enough, we gave up the idea and just waited for our waiter to appear somewhere so we could pay the check. After half an hour of waiting, another waiter came to collect our plates and we requested for a check. Very poor service.

Great for vegans. Dont know if just lucky but was dreading being stuck with lack of vegan lunch but was great the “vegetarian” marked main dish was actually also vegan, delicious and not processed food. The buffet selection had hummus pickles and lots of vegan friendly. Very tasty and good if you are hungry. Oatly provided for coffee also.

After a stay at JärvZoo also recommended! we finished our day here with late lunch at Restaurang Bergshotellet. Nice food, good portions, completed our experience and we felt relaxed and satisfied . Thank you!
