Sjöbo Gästgifvaregård

We wish we’d had more time to really experience Sjöbo Gästgiveri. Our visit was short—we arrived late, ventured out into the countryside, and returned even later, using the old-fashioned front door key to let ourselves in after 8pm. I found that charming, actually. Two keys: one for the room, and one for the hotel itself. It gave the place a timeless, almost storybook feel.nnThe room wasn’t extravagant or luxurious, but it was pleasant and comfortable—exactly what we needed. The shower was surprisingly good, and everything felt clean and well-maintained. We didn’t get to try the food or explore the hotel and its grounds, which we regret. It’s clearly a place that invites wandering.nnWhat we appreciated most was the location. Sjöbo Gästgiveri sits right in the middle of everything we wanted to see in Skåne—easy access to castles, coastlines, countryside, and charming towns. If you’re using it as a base to explore the region, it’s an ideal choice.nnNext time, we’ll make sure to slow down and give this place the time it deserves.

We had dinner and it was really tasty! I had a vegetarian platter and my colleagues had their Christmas smorgasbord and everyone was happy. Very nice historic building and super friendly staff too!

Dirty, room never cleaned. Hair everywhere, dust everywhere, spider crushed on the ceilings in bathroom, pillows with white stains on the bed. Very old Hotel. Restaurant with typical Swedish cooking. Breakfast salt only, but with yogurt and fruits.

Booked a table for lunch. Delicious, freshly cooked food. Limited menu but extremely good value with generous portions.nA practical and effective way of handling the seating of customers, with no time wasted. Pleasant staff, nice, slightly traditional decor, clean and neat.nPlenty of parking on-site and nearby.nBeware of the cobble stones if you are wearing high heels.nWill definitely visit again.

We've been several times, food quality is unpredictable, sometimes good sometimes bad. Unfortunately we have had more bad than good food experiences there. Love the building and the location though.
