We didn’t stay in this hotel so cannot really comment on the rooms. We took the night train from Oslo to Bergen and had breakfast in this hotel. On the website of VY, it says you can enjoy a discounted breakfast buffet if you have taken the train from Oslo to Bergen. We asked at the reception and they welcomed us without hesitation. They also offered free luggage storage service which saved us NOK299 of storing at the train station. I really liked this hotel’s breakfast room as it is very cosy and the style of the room goes with my preference. After a night of sleep on the train, spending some quiet time in a small hotel like this is indeed very healing. The breakfast has good selection of food and drinks. Crowd was not huge so you can really take your time and don’t feel the pressure of finishing breakfast in rush. I would recommend this hotel breakfast option for those who take night train from Oslo! On the way back to Oslo, we also saved our luggage here and rested in the lounge till our train departed. Fremkommelighet til fots: 30 seconds from the train station. Når vi skulle chekke in var de problemer med kortene til rommet, stresset reception personal . Lika så når vi skulle chekke ut, de spurte ikke hvis vi vsr fornøyd med vistelsen vi hade der. Generelt ikke hyggelig personal i receptionen. Bar og restaurang kjempe bra frokosten helt perfekt ikke noe og sie om det. Hyggelig bar personal og fin bar. Rommen var små og varma ikke noen ac , då vi må ha vindu åpne så kommer mye lyd og støy utanfør det var også sellskap på en kvelden. Vask generelt ikke kjempe bra , vi fikk også følelse at vaske damen rotet bland tingene våres men inget jeg har bevisnfor men låg ikke der det låg fra før Hvis jeg og familie skall tillbaka til Bergen så kommer vi ikke vi igjen på hotelllet men hade kunnet komme tilbake for mat og service. Bra at det ligger nære tåg terminal.
In the heart of Bergen, beside the train station but without any rumours. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rich breakfast buffet with good quality and fresh food…even caviar is served! I love the furniture of this historic hotel. Definitely recommend it!
Spacious rooms and some historic charm elevate this hotel's offering. Location near the train station is a blessing and a curse can get noisy at odd hours. The breakfast buffet was well stocked and quite tasty. We did not have any wash clothes after they cleaned the room after night 1 - which was odd, given they'd supplied all fresh towels otherwise. They also have a reasonably well-supplied gym in the basement.

Trangt i 3 etage mot trang bakgård med byggearbeider utenfor, billig sengetøy, en liten puslete pute, dårlig rengjort skitne vinduer Stor kjøkkenvifte rett utenfor vinduet som ristet rommet tidvis. Kort sagt: Et svært lite trivelig rom. Sannsynligvis ett av de værste rommene i hotellet, - så hvorfor bruker de det og tildeler dette til gjester som betaler for og tror de får i det minste et normalt standard rom på et standard norsk hotell når man bestiller? Lovely hotel in Bergen. It’s just across the street from the train station and within walking distance from the main tourist attractions, it’s also close to the bus station and to a lot of shops and restaurants. The bedroom was great, breakfast was really good and the staff was super nice. Definitely recommend.Rom: 5/5
Hands down the worst hotel/lodging we stayed at in Bergen and we’ve stayed at 6 different lodgings spots in and around Bergen through different trips in and out of Bergen as we try to find our favorite hotel. This sure ain’t it. First and foremost, on the night, we stayed at the hotel the hotel had a big wedding going on. That’s rarely a problem for us because hotels are usually well insulated and they separate your Room from the weddings. However, in this case, the wedding was in the first floor, and our room was directly above it in the second floor. This may not have been a Problem had the rooms heater not been turned on all the way up, requiring us to open our windows. So first we had to convince the person at the front desk to help us figure out the problem with the heater The people before us had it cranked all the way up, and we didn’t know how to Shut it down; It’s a very old system. Then we had to open our windows to cool down the room so we can sleep It’s midnight at this point, But the wedding was still running very wild. When we checked with the lobby about the wedding and whether they could change our room, they said that the hotel is fully booked, and that other customers have dealt with itThey didn’t because they were Four other customers from three different rooms Down at the lobby, complaining about the same thing And that the front desk person asked the wedding people to “lower the music, please” and that they didn’t. To be clear, I do not expect the wedding to lower their music On the night of their lives… It’s just not how you manage your customers. I do, however, expect the hotel to not book Rooms above and around The galley when there is a wedding happening Because no one will be happy. The Support number for the hotel was even less helpful. They’re pretty much dismissed us saying good luck booking with another hotel because it turns out they own a lot of the hotels around Bergen. I know they don’t own the beautiful Hanseatic hotel or the luxurious Opus or the super fun HI Hostel Montana… Oh, and did I mention that the hotel had some random person sleeping in the middle of the lobby which is teeny tiny see The left-hand side of the photo, which felt very odd and unsafe, especially as there were drunk people going in and out of the wedding and passing by that seemingly homeless person sleeping in the lobby. I hope no one has to suffer with this hotel like we did. No matter how many discounts they have, It’s just not worth it. Some customers left the hotel just before midnight, but none of them were offered refunds or any sort of compensation based on conversations with three different people I met who had the same issue. Rom: Archaic and the heat is defaulted to the highest setting Aktiviteter i nærheten: Near the train station, nothing else Fremkommelighet til fots: Kind of scary and loud at night Mat og drikke: No place to sit in the restaurant during breakfast. Interessante detaljer: Very thin walls very loud.
To name the good things first: - Location, for guests arriving by train, as the station is just a few meters away. - Rooms are clean, the hotel as a building has character. - Breakfast is superb! What we didn't like: - as of May 27th 2024, the hotel has an active construction site with start of work at 06:45. Useless to say that the hotel does not mention that on its website! Be informed that you may expect hard noise during the day throughout the building. - We had a standard room, that has no wardrobe. All you get is an open clothes rail with hangers and a rack. - Bathroom is tiny with no space at all for your items and low overall standard. Short bathtub with shower only, water easily spills everywhere. Hair dryer works but had a molten housing. Could easily be seen by caring staff. - Welcome was friendly, but far from warm. Checkout had no words at all besides "Nothing from the mini bar, so nothing left to do". This is so low! I would NOT choose the Grand again.
I won’t stay anywhere else when I visit Bergen! This hotel is just fabulous and so are the wonderful people who work here. We have some of the most lovely hotel rooms I’ve experienced in Europe and we have slept very well at night. Granted we have two balcony rooms that overlook the train station, so they have very good ventilation. Some years ago I stayed here in a very small double twin room, but I remember it too being quite comfortable. Veira has been so kind and accommodating. She is patient with all my questions and she opened up the side garden for me so I could relax and read in the area, as I had done one afternoon on my previous stay here. Veira also kindly booked us a taxi for tomorrow from a trusted Taxi service, which I appreciate very much. Tor also gives us exceptional customer service. Before we set out this morning, he made several excellent recommendations and booked us dinner reservations at a restaurant I had been considering. Receiving assistance from both Veira and Tor adds value to our experience here in Bergen that you just can’t put a price on. It’s comforting to know we can rely on this hotel staff to assist us with any questions and needs that arise. As stated in other reviews, the morning breakfast that’s included has to be one of the best in Bergen. Anything you can think of they have! Excellent coffee, lots of fruit and veggies for vegetarians, traditional English breakfast utensils, wonderful brown Norwegian goat cheese and a variety of delicious breads and pastries. If you are a family, consider the family room. It has a king size bed for mom and dad two twins pushed together, it’s very big! and a couch bed for one child it’s long so can accommodate a young adult. I don’t know if these room can accommodate 2 children but you could ask. These rooms are very spacious and it’s nice with kids to have that d tea space. The extra money you spend will be well worth it. One last point, being across the street from the train station was EXTREMELY nice. When we arrived yesterday it was quite rainy and all we did was pop across the street and check in. Plus it’s only a few minutes walk down to the Bryggen and all the restaurants. On my next trip to Bergen I look forward to returning to Grand Hotel Terminus! This feels like “home” when I visit this beautiful city.
Nice Hôtel not far from Bergen tourist attractions. Very good breakfast. Room would benefit from a bit of noise insulation.Rom: 4/5
