The cafe looks small from the outside, but we were surprised when we got in its actually quiet spacious and there were many people.nThe staffs takes the orders quiet fast and the cakes was good. We had 3 different cakes but we like most is the brownie, it was really good.
Very cozy, wonderful cafe/bakery in the center of Stockholm! They have such delicious pastries and sweets as well as a great assortment of teas! It must also be a great place for lunch as many people around us were ordering sandwiches and lunch options. The decoration and style of the cafe is great, bringing forth a retro style. Would love to visit it again and try more of their creations
Cool place to visit with quality food and drinks!nnYou see that more often in Sweden, a restaurant/cafe build in a former home/multiple homes, which you can walk through, really cool and cosy.nnThe hot chocolate was really good, and homemade!nnMy Trio chocolate cake, was a bit too much gelatine based to my liking. Nice, but had better.nThe Semla was really good.nnOf course it was Saturday, so reaaallly busy, but many people just stay for a short time, so we got a table in no time.nnOrder at the counter and take it to your table, like in many places in Sweden.nCheck on the map which Vete Katten you’re going to, I saw there are quite a few!
Vete-Katten is hands down one of the best cafés I’ve tried so far. While it leans a bit towards a commercial feel, the vibe is incredibly trendy and welcoming—a true Scandinavian gem where people of all age groups gather to enjoy. The café has an impressive range of pastries, and I had two types of Semla -like treats filled with the same traditional almond cream: one traditional and the other with traditional bun. Both were absolutely delightful! The coffee was smooth and perfectly complemented the pastries.nnThe cutlery and tableware are beautiful, adding a touch of charm to the experience. While the service follows the typical self-service style common across Scandinavia, it didn’t take away from the overall experience. The location is also super convenient, close to T-Centralen and a tunnelbana station, making it easily accessible.nnDespite it being very crowded on a Sunday evening understandably so, the wait for a spot—around 15 minutes—was worth it. The quality of the food and the lively atmosphere made it an amazing experience overall. Highly recommended!
One of my favorite cafés in Stockholm. The interior is fantastic and the pastries are consistently good. The only downside is how busy it can get, but there are plenty of seats so there is usually no problem getting one.
