AB 1909 Sigtuna Stads Hotell

We recently stayed at 1909 Sigtuna Stads Hotell and had a mixed experience. While there were definitely highlights, a few issues left us disappointed.nnWe had booked a superior room, but upon entering, the room felt noticeably smaller than shown in the pictures. The bathroom was cramped, and the expected separate sitting area with a table and chairs was missing. After raising this with reception and showing the pictures from the website, which clearly included a bathtub and more space, we were eventually moved to another room that matched our expectations. The difference between the two rooms was significant, which raises the question: was the first one really a superior room? Mistakes can happen, but it’s better to acknowledge them rather than act as if nothing is wrong.nnThe second room was lovely, with a beautiful view, and we appreciated the air conditioning. However, small details like missing bathrobes and slippers, which are usually standard in this room category, took away from the overall experience.nnBreakfast was pleasant in terms of quality, but when we arrived at 9:30, still within breakfast hours, many items were already gone. The hot food section was completely empty, and various cold items were nearly depleted. For a hotel in this price range, replenishing the buffet until closing time should be standard.nnOn the positive side, the hotel has a great location, with easy parking and close proximity to Sigtuna’s charming shopping and dining street.nnIn short, this hotel has a lot going for it, but it lacks consistency. With some attention to detail and honest communication, it could live up to the luxurious image it presents.

Nice little hotel at a great location by the lake Mälaren. Friendly service and a good breakfast. Small rooms but overall clean and cozy equipped with AC. Good value for the price. Well worthy a visit!

Perfect place, we would came in after midnight, called the hotel and they left the keys at the porch under a flowerpot, much my appreciated. Excellent breakfast. And really nice village to make a walk.

Mother’s day set menu was a disaster. The food was finger sized although advertised as a “brunch”, and the pavlova was described as served “with berries” but came out with one 1 singular raspberry - and ready-made cream from cannisters. Couldn’t even cut it, that’s how tough it was. The champagne was filled half way, and different amounts for everyone.nnThe service was lacking. The tables around us were left dirty although the restaurant was 30% full. We were left to eat on old dirty plates when served the dessert.nnFrom what the restaurant presents itself as, I expected more. But it’s really really cheap food, things you can find pre packed at ICA. For a regular supper, this works. But don’t go here to celebrate anything. The staff isn’t trained to a any standard at all.

Beautiful location and nice spot for a hotel with a decent restaurant. The lady who served us was so friendly and warm and spoke very good English. Our food came on time and was absolutely delicious! A bit pricey but worth it. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to take a photo of our food but it was the cod fish
