Grenna Hotel

The Grenna hotel ist very nice softly renovated, the drinks at the bar are perfectly prepared by the nice lady. The small room was actually small, unfortuantely, during the day has been heated up and didn't cool down during the night.

Excellent small and personal hotel with very nice staff, cozy rooms and a superb breakfast.nGränna is a cozy little picturesque village, where a lot of tourists visit during the day but in the evening and night it's nice and quiet.

Please note we stayed at Pensionat Grenna, not the Hotel - same facility but not the rooms in the main building.nnGreat location in Gränna, close to everything.nnQuaint and relaxing garden albeit somewhat too overgrown and lots of bugs, most annoying hornets. Patio was nice but needs some extra care such as scrubbing and paint.nnHotel building's interior is very nice, welcoming and relaxing and the staff is nice and friendly. The bar has a nice selection of refreshments and it's a great place for a gin-drink.nnThe restaurant was good although the service was new and not up to the standard of the prices on the menu. As an example I asked for a trimmed piece of beef as I do not like to have to cut away half my steak chewy fat and gristle as I eat. That was missed entirely and the meat I got was disappointing. Also the refill of wine was forgotten and got the refill of red wine to my lovely sorbet desert.nnBreakfast was just great.nnThe room in the charming old red wooden buildings were unfortunately very sub-par to the rest of the stay and really need either full refurbishment OR halving the price per night.nFunky smell, old bathroom, no ventilation or AC which made the air stale and trying to sleep in the warm smelly room horrible. Also wifi in the room only worked in theory.nThe excuse for not having better standards on the Pensionat rooms was the covid pandemic. But everyone blames Covid - could I as a consumer blame Covid and pay less? Probably not.nnAnyway, hope the rooms are renovated and AC is installed as well as proper wifi.

Very nice staff, hotel and rooms are of an older style but feel very clean and fresh. The hotel is walking distance away from groceries, drug stores and the lake, and lies in a calm neighborhood.
