Gyllene Uttern

We were here for lunch and the place was nice it had a sense of past glory. The lunch menu was ok and decently priced. The location and the view over the lake are simply splendid. Nice place to stop but a place where we 40+ felt young.

We had a wonderful stay at Gyllene Uttern! The surroundings are stunning, the food was delicious and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Niklas at the front desk was particularly accommodating; he was lovely to chat to, recommended things to do in the area and helped us navigate our hikes.

Beautiful views of the lake and so peaceful. The staff were very good, managed our large working when we had evening drinks and dinner. A excellent place to stay.

We went fot their christmas buffet and stayed the night. The room was decent at best, but at least it was clean. Poorly lit, mechanical locks, one key for a room for four.nnThe restaurant on the other hand was phenomenal. The Christmas buffet was extremely good with an excellent selection of seafood related foods. Service was decent, it was in my opinion understaffed, but they did their best.nnThe place itself was rather interesting, castle-like feeling with lots of different rooms in the main building.nnI definitely recommend this place for their restaurant.

I was extremely disappointed and honestly angry after this experience. Despite being very cozy and full of charm with a beautiful view, our stay was extremely disappointing. The service was unfriendly and unhelpful from the start, with poor organization around the julbord and the same issues repeated during breakfast. For a hotel that charges significantly more than nearby alternatives, the level of service is simply unacceptable and not something we would experience again.
