Smygehus Havsbad

Our visit to Smygehus Havsbad aimed to be a peaceful escape from city life for a relaxing experience, but unfortunately, it turned into a nightmare. It coincided with a real estate company's Christmas party, which significantly impacted our stay. Despite the disruptive behavior of the party attendees, the staff failed to intervene or address the situation, leaving us feeling neglected.nnThroughout the evening, the attendees were loud, unruly, and completely inconsiderate of other guests. Their behavior included shouting, excessive drinking, disrupting our space, causing disturbances in the pool area, spilled our drinks and pool jumping. Regrettably, despite our discomfort and inconvenience, there was no attempt by the staff to rectify the situation or offer apologies for the disruption caused.nnThis lack of accountability and management of such a disruptive event left us deeply disappointed. A relaxing getaway turned into a stressful and uncomfortable experience due to the unchecked behavior of others and the absence of support from the establishment's staff. Such occurrences are unacceptable in a hospitality setting.nnI believe it's essential for establishments to manage events responsibly, ensuring the comfort and enjoyment of all guests. Based on this unfortunate experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend Smygehus Havsbad to anyone seeking a peaceful retreat. A lack of attention to guest comfort and experience during such events seriously affects the establishment's reputation and the overall satisfaction of visitors.

3,5 overall. This hotel is composed of a main building and a series of cottages. I was assigned a cottage, with two bedrooms, one large bathroom, a toilet and a living room with kitchenette. The interior is well kept and basic, nothing modern. The small spa area was nice, with a relaxation corner, a fire place and tables. The service was friendly. The food was ok but I felt too much cream was used for the dishes.

I start with the good things: it was an awesome location near to the sea, the vibe in the spa-area is great and the gym is very good. We had a small house where we could sleep in and the house itself was quiet nice and the rooms were big enough. But on second view the whole house was dirty and we had mold in our bathroom. Overall I think the price wasn’t really worth it but it was still a nice stay.

Fantastic hotel on the coast. Rooms are a bit dated, but service and food were fantastic.

Checked in ca 1400 on 27-08-23 and booked a dinner table for 1800 that evening with the young woman at reception.nAt the restaurant, the two waiters greeted is but had no record of our reservation. Our waiter, a balding man with moustache, seated us anyway. While taking our orders his manner was sarcastic. He called me 'maestro' and assumed I wanted a beerwell, okay and ryggbiffnot at all. Then he never returned to our table, although he attended to other diners nearby. We had to interrupt the other waiter and the server/dish clearer for help. The food was very good but the snub dampened our enjoyment of the visit. Maybe he thought we lied about having a table reservation and was punishing us.nOtherwise, the hotel had remarkable decor, high quality food, spa, heated outdoor mini pool and beautiful seaside views.
