Everything about our experience here was amazing. We booked the Sea View room, which had the most beautiful views of the boats and water outside, as well as a huge balcony area. Our room was spacious, clean, with a well stocked mini fridge.nnI've stayed at many hotels in Stockholm, and this one blows them all out of the water. We can't wait to go back next year and try the suite out for our wedding!
It’s a lovely small hotel, the rooms themselves however are quite small and there was only a small hanging space without any place to unpack. Not enough space to live out of the suitcase either. We had a middle range room with balcony. Enjoyed the service and general ambiance but I wouldn’t recommend it. Even though our room did not directly front the street the evening street noise was bothersome two of the three nights.
Really disappointing. We had one night in Stockholm as part of our anniversary trip and it was wasted because of booking this hotel. We booked a deluxe sea view room and got a room that looked like tired, filthy student accommodation.nnThe dust was thick and caked on and inside all the light fittings to the extent that when the lights are on the dust plumes out.nnWonky toilet seat. Stairs at the foot of the bed and room was simply not as advertised, despite telling them in advance we were only here for 1 night and it was a special occasion.nnWaste of time, waste of money. No other rooms available. No manager was available to speak with either.nnThe staff on the desk were very friendly and offered a discount but I booked this hotel for peace of mind and a guaranteed luxury evening so not recoverable. Wish I'd stayed at home.
Amazing hotel with exceptional service. To me, the best hotel in Stockholm.nnThe restaurant and bar is great and they have an amazing team with Daniel and his crew.nnJust stayed and coming back in a couple of weeks and me, my wife and my kids can’t wait. The team always make us feel special as they recognize us when we return, even if it’s been months or even a year between stays.
Well situated along a busy waterside, The Diplomat proved a perfect location for our visit, although housekeeping services were a bit erratic. Views from our rooms were unparalleled. The historic nature of the building, however, precludes modern conveniences. One charming but tiny elevator accommodates only a very few guests and luggage comfortably. Be prepared to join others in taking the stairs! The Diplomat is NOT for the impatient or mobility-challenged traveller. The breakfast buffet and portage services were also a bit underwhelming compared to our experiences at other 5-star-rated hotels.
