PRO:n1. The staff was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, both at check in and in the morning when entering the breakfast area.n2. The location is central with good parking options.nnCON:n1. We had booked a family room for two adults and two children but were met with only three sets of bedding, two on a double bed and one on a roller bed. There was a sofa in the room as well for which we received additional sheets and bedding after having asked so that solved the kids sleeping situation. The double bed’s mattresses must have been in use for a long time as they were very uneven and wobbly, so not a very comfortable night.n2. Admittedly nothing the hotel has influence on - during the night, the traffic noise was off the charts high. It sounded like several cars were racing along the street in front of the hotel over and over again with noisy motors and at high speed. Since the room did not have air conditioning, the choice was between noisy and fresh air or quiet and stuffy.n3. Principally, I’d say the hotel could focus on more quality than quantity in the breakfast area - huge amounts of cut vegetables, but unfortunately not very fresh looking or tasting. Perhaps smaller platters at a time but freshly prepared would avoid food waste and taste better. Four or five different meat based ham/cold cut options and two cheeses, but all fairly bland and no vegetarian vegetable spread options. From a vegetarian perspective, some tomato spread, hummus etc would be appreciated. The furnishings in the area where we sat were pretty worn and not very well cleaned, with some milk stains on the side boards and the tables and chairs not very clean.
Beautifull hotel. The family room has 4 individual beds so siblings can also sleep in peace. Very nice playroom and a movie room summertime. The courtyard is cozy. The bar was good. Breakfast divided in multiple places so it was roomy with good selection. Breakfast rooms and the whole building is very beautiful.
This is the best Scandic I have stayed in. First the room was a good size, had a desk to work at. Second It was a real double bed, not two twin beds pushed together like 95% of Swedish hotels. Third Good breakfast buffet, the hotel was full, but the buffet was well stocked.nFourth the had bikes available, although they needed maintenance.
Good solid hotel smack in the middle of Linköping. A huge drawback coming with car is that Linköping feels it is okay to charge for parking 24/7 thus you are left to pay either on the street or in the. Scandic garage. Which one you prefer is your choice, but pay you have to. Sadly curtains in room is not the proper size so a lot of sun slips through in the morning, the next night we solved the problem by piling up clothes and towels. Breakfast, good food, but during weekend absolutely full of guests, thus making it hard to find a table.
The picture showed during booking process did not match the room at all. Renovation needed and overall very low quality compared to the price. Not recommended.
