Grand Hôtel

The Grand Hôtel in Stockholm truly lives up to its name. The staff are exceptional—professional, warm, and consistently attentive. The location is unbeatable, with beautiful views across the water toward the Royal Palace, and it’s easy to explore the city on foot or hop on a nearby ferry.nnThe common areas are elegant and well maintained, and the bar/restaurant was one of the highlights of our stay. We ended up sampling the entire inventive drink menu, and every cocktail was excellent.nnThe only area that felt a bit dated was the hotel corridors, but all other facilities were in great shape and maintained to a high standard.nnOverall, a classic, luxurious hotel with fantastic service and a prime location.

We spent an absolutely fantastic family holiday in Stockholm, and our stay at the Grand Hôtel was nothing short of amazing! The hotel truly exceeded every expectation — world-class service, impeccable quality, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Every member of the staff was incredibly friendly, professional, and genuinely committed to making our stay unforgettable.nWe loved every moment and will definitely be coming back again!

Pros: Excellent location right on river, close to the main attractions as well shopping, restaurants and bars. Attentive customer service and concierge. Rooms of a good standard and size, with plentiful amenities that are refreshed often, with a turn down service also included. The gym was a very good size for a hotel. Breakfast which was included, was of a high standard.nnCons: On the weekends the breakfast buffet was very busy, if a bit chaotic, and it impacted service and the availability of foods offered, as food items often run out without being replaced. The gym could get busy - it appears they offer opportunities for non guests to use, which i guess explains its larger than normal size. I also had to enquire about the complimentary newspaper, rather than it being offered to me at check-in.

Every staff was very professional, friendly, helpful and supportive.nRooms were spacious and comfortable. Rooms layout and style were a bit different in each floor. But all were very nice.nThe meeting rooms were very outstanding too, especially the facing to the river

Some places don’t perform luxury — they embody it.nnThe rooms are impeccable, carrying the rich, layered history of Stockholm with quiet grace. The staff were attentive, and the concierge arranged an exceptional itinerary for the day. I was pleasantly surprised by the room-service menu, something I have expereinced that Nordics rarely get right.nnAt the Cadier Bar, I ordered a Bloody Mary made with akvavit instead of vodka and the balance was impeccable, easily the finest I’ve had in my travels. A small detail, perhaps, but that’s where true refinement lives: in the choices that ask for nothing yet deliver everything.
