Bank Hotel

To put it simple: luxury price but lousy service + cheap hotel setup!!!nNever dream anything else other than a good location. And don’t ruin your family vacation with such a bad choice!nSimple breakfast will even blow your mind away further. Worst ever hotel experience with a 5stars propaganda which makes it looks like a scam.

I only stayed one night but this hotel is the one! Very luxurious hotel and the staff were very friendly. I had to leave early but they were kind enough to prepare me a breakfast with tea. The food was delicious and more than enough I ate some of it as snacks!. The cheese sandwich, yogurt with granola, banana, and pastries! Would definitely stay again for more days. The only thing that I found challenging is the space in the room, which is probably because my bag was big. This is a true 5 star hotel.

Stayed in a bedroom without windows and with a bed only fitted with single duvets which is not ideal. The room itself was fine but for 5,000SEK a night you would expect much more.

Here is a transcript of the email I sent to hotel management after our stay. I hope it can help some people decide when to stay, since the weekend may not be a good time, which is what we learned from many other people after our stay in room 302:nnWe just completed a stay in your absolutely beautiful Bank Hotel. My sambo booked a mini “staycation” to celebrate my birthday and Bank Hotel came highly recommended. We were so pleased when we got to the room, it was just lovely and comfortable and my sambo had arranged for a bottle of bubbles to be up there waiting for us, which was accompanied by a birthday card and some delicious chocolates.nnHowever, unfortunately, that is where things kind of turned around. After we got back from our dinner and settled in for the night we eventually turned in and went to bed. And this is when we discovered that the road the hotel is on is heavily traveled by drunk club-goers, and when we also discovered that the windows in the hotel room are almost completely uninsulated from sound. We were awoken numerous times from people screaming in the streets, but the worst was at 3:30 in the morning when I had to shout out of the window to tell a group of people just outside of the hotel to be quiet.nnI do understand that there may not be a lot that can be done about this specific scenario, however I have a hard time believing that this couldn’t be heard by hotel staff in the lobby. They were outside the hotel for about an hour just yelling and screaming, and I have to imagine there are some laws in Sweden for disturbing the peace. I don’t feel like it should have to be our responsibility to try and keep people hanging around the hotel respectful.nnFor a hotel that cost us 5 000 sek for the night, I guess I would have expected a much better experience, more in line with some of the other luxury hotels that we have stayed in around Europe. What could have been a nearly perfect evening left a very sour taste in our mouths and also leaves us unable to recommend this hotel to anyone hoping to get a good nights sleep.nnWe did communicate this with the front desk as well, but I also wanted you to be aware.

DO NOT STAY AT BANK HOTEL if you don’t like strong obnoxious perfume. Their ‘signature smell’ is throughout the lobby and main floor as well as in their shower products. It was unbelievable and unbearable. You cannot escape it and it was horrible.nThe carpet in my room, #352, was disgusting and needs to be changed out completely. I did not want my bare feet to touch the carpet as it was completely matted down in most areas. They need to put wood or vinyl flooring in the whole hotel to at least make it appear to be clean.nThe hotel restaurant was mediocre at best, I advise to eat outside of the hotel. We had 1 dinner there and it was not good, regretted it.nAll in all our stay here was not good and I wish we moved over to the Grand Hotel as soon as we checked in. We gave it a try and it was a mistake. Happy to leave after our 2 days!nAlso, follow up with the valet if you need your car at a certain time in order to be somewhere else on time as we almost missed our ferry due to their incompetence.nnHighlight: The green juice at breakfast
