Hotel Birger Jarl

Hotel Birger Jarl was a nice 4 star hotel we chose for our somewhat spontaneous trip to Stockholm where we wanted something not too far away from the train station, not too expensive, yet was still quite nice overall. It did deliver and although it wasn’t really that close to most places we hung around such as Södermalm and the port, it was still clean, tide, neat, and the pictures online weren’t misleading at all. Especially nice with an above decent hotel gym, a TV with streaming possibilities as well as helpful and professional staff.

Great hotel in central Stockholm, and especially if you are travelling by car and need a good parking. The breakfast is wonderful. Have stayed here a few times over the years and always had a good experience. Comfortable beds. Friendly service. Warmly recommend!

The location is excellent, very close to the city centre and well connected by public transport.nnThe staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel offers self check-in and check-out, which is convenient and helps avoid waiting in queues. However, we had some difficulty figuring out how to use the machines when checking in.nnBreakfast was an open buffet with a good variety of options, including different types of milk, bread, and cheese. The food was tasty and enjoyable. That said, some guests were using the same spoons for different food items, including meat and tomato-based dishes, which raised some concerns about food hygiene. The coffee and tea were served warm rather than hot. I am not sure if this is a Swedish thing, but it was noticeable.nnThe rooms are an okay size but could benefit from renovation. Air conditioning is not available, and adding it would greatly improve comfort, especially during warmer periods.

Very nice hôtel. Location is great 10 min walk from city center. Nice staff and nice lobby with free coffee and beverage. The restaurant is nice and practical. Food is ok.nnRooms are small but clean and comfortable. Good value for money
