I only wish I arrived upon opening so I could look at every corner of the museum thoroughly. An amazing collection of taxidermy, skelletons and model artists' rendition of nearly every animal, current or extinct. The guide map was really easy to follow. I also watched the Asteroid Hunters movie at their cinema, and even though it was apocalyptic at times, I'm glad to have had this experience.nnI only wish there was a publication of the museum I could have purchased at the shop, but there were mostly childrens' books and topic-specific Swedish books. There are a lot of prints, plushies and more to buy though.
The Museum of Natural History is located north of the city centre and is easily reached by subway line 14. The museum features IMAX films and two to three floors of exhibitions on natural history. It is well worth a visit—plan around three hours for the permanent exhibitions alone, or a full day if you also visit the special exhibitions and watch an IMAX film.nnThe museum is popular with families and children and can be quite crowded at times. There are two cafés/restaurants and plenty of seating areas throughout the building. Luggage lockers are available on the entrance floor, to the left of the reception desk.
This place is a must visit, I have learned so much things about our planet and environment. My toddlers has lots of fun and was excited, and not only him, all of us found an activity for ourselves, there are lots of interactive boards which makes the exploration fun. Just a note, take some warm jacket if you attend the arctic/antarctic rooms, that place was little bit chilly.
Magnificent building. The museum has many exhibits and large variety of themes. Signs are also shown in English. The kids really enjoyed it and so did we. We paid around 30eur 320kr, family of 2 adults and 2 kids, ages 8 and 5.
The museum is not that huge so you can wait a long time especially if there are large groups with children. Even if you book your ticket in advance. We waited around 45 minutes in the rain. But when you are inside there is a huge amount of very interesting things. Dinosaurs were our favorite
