One of the best museums I've ever visited. Insanely high exposure. There are many exhibits that tell their own story. This story can be heard and seen. Allow at least two hours for this museum. Even the appearance of the building tells you to come in and see Scandinavian history, where different eras intertwine.
Very interesting museum - looks bigger on the outside as the displays are all on the perimeter on the inside. But there is a lot to see! They do have audio guides for you to rent but you can also download an app on your phone for free - you just have to use your own headphones to listen. We found it just as well to walk around without the audio. There is a cafe inside should you want a snack or drink as well as a nice gift shop.
It was one of the best museums I have visited. The attention to details and the number of show rooms, you can easily sink 2-3 hours here.nThere is a lovely cafe as wellnIt's worth it also to wait for the exhibition if there is a line, it's only like 15 min waiting.
This place offers amazing insight into the history of Scandinavia.nThere are four levels, you get a chance to download on your phone a free audio guide couple of languages and then you can start the tour.nThe building itself has an amazing architecture.
I expected a bit more within the museum, and the exhibitions were just not set up to my liking. There were really cool introductory paragraphs into the 1600s to start off the Nordic Life section, but then it's a just a mass of glass cabinets full of every single artifact ever found from 1600s Sweden and a two-person audio-visual screen that is always busy. This is what all of the Nordic Life rooms were like. There was absolutely zero focus on anything, it felt like the curators just tossed in artifacts like it was a mood board. Other than that it's a cool building to see inside of, but the other exhibits were just like the Nordic Life part, except for the special exhibits in the middle of the hall. If you are interested in collections of objects, definitely go. If not, you're not missing anything.
