What an incredible museum! Apart from an astonishing ship that you get to see up close on 7 different levels , you have lots of exhibits, reading, movies and more to go through.nWhat’s more, the restaurant in the museum is very nice, has a beautiful view on the harbor and the most delicious glogg must have!.nnHighly recommend.nWe spent a 3,5h total here. We took our time and read most of the information. You can make this visit shorter, but really - why would you?nAmazing experience!
One of the highlights of Stockholm for us! The Vasa ship is incredible and quite a special thing to see as it is so different from other museums. Loads of really interesting information and features!nnWe didn’t book in advance but were able to buy the tickets immediately and go straight in, and it wasn’t too busy. We spent over an hour looking around here and really enjoyed it.
A must see! Chances are good that you've never seen a warship so well preserved up close and I promise you that you will definitely be surprised by its dimensions. At least I was. It's huge. The whole museum is built around it and it's full of interesting information about the ship, the equipment, the history and the recovery. There are multiple floors you can explore and in my case there weren't even that many people. It was a Monday At the time I visited the museum, there also was an exhibition that showed shipwrecks built from LEGO bricks and you could build something on your own, which was fun.
The Vasa Museum in Stockholm is an absolute must-see for history and maritime enthusiasts. The Vasa ship, a 17th-century marvel, is truly spectacular in size and detail, towering over visitors with its intricately carved hull and preserved structure. The ship’s scale and craftsmanship are awe-inspiring, showcasing the incredible engineering skills of the time. The story of its recovery and restoration adds another layer of fascination, making it one of the best-preserved historical ships in the world. The museum’s exhibits provide rich context about life aboard and the shipbuilding techniques of the era. A truly unforgettable experience for all ages!
A very educative trip! You'll learn in the guided tour what happened to the world's most powerful battleship which came to ruins and sank in the Baltic sea. Fortunately pieces were so well preserved that it was possible to restore it to about 98% of its original form.
