Perfect place to stay the whole day. Beautifully laid out and a totally interesting history of Sweden. The animals were also great and everyone enjoyed it. Great food and just really nice with the small houses, like a farmers market. The only criticism is, that the animals don't have much space. Otherwise, it's a really great day trip destination in Stockholm. What's probably important for many people is, that it's a great destination for families.
Went to Skansen today and joining thousands of people in their traditions in celebrating mid-summer eve. Ran into a brown bear, a moose and a lynx.....nlucky they were at the zoo part of Skansen. Best to buy tickets online if a weekend or public holiday.
Spent the afternoon here on Mid Summer with my son and some friends. It was really crowded! Still fun to walk around and thankful this place wasn’t full of people having to take 1 million selfies. There were lots of families around having a picnic. There were some animals to see and a cafeteria to get lunch at. A fun time and something to see while in Stockholm for the week.nnI do recommend buying tickets in advance. You can then walk in and do not have to wait to enter the park.
Nice place to visit on a nice day. It can be very interesting for the kids and families. Plenty of things to do and see and you can easily spend half of a day here but also if you are in a hurry 2h can do the work. For me the most interesting things were animals and houses with old crafts.
Great place to spend the whole day. There are nicely preserved building from past centuries with actors “living” and “working” in bakery, glassware shop, etc. Zoo with Nordic animals - moose, wolverine, arctic fox, brown bear - is neat. It was overcrowded for celebration of midsommer eve though. It is better to avoid main entrance and use one from Haseliusbacken str, there is a funicular to lift to the hilltop
