It was not a huge museum, but the quality of artifacts along with posted information and the free tour we're really outstanding. You may have to wait for the English tour if you come around lunch. Don't miss this opportunity if you're in the area. The gift shop is excellent as well. Save a little time for lunch, there are several very good restaurants in the immediate area.
A small but very nice museum. I recommend taking a guide. The exhibition tells about the life of the Vikings. When you go down to the basement with the train, you can watch a movie about the Viking family. I really liked the museum.
The Viking Museum looks pretty interesting to look around when it is related to the Vikings, as it is very calming. Surely there was a lot to look at, which is fine for me. Very relaxing and peaceful which is good that I can be looking and listening better. The ride was a nice but the language was in Swedish, but that was not a big of a deal. I do recommend to visit for sure whenever you want to know about history of Vikings, as long you are interested into them.
Very good museum. We started with lunch at the outdoor cafe which was great. We were there on Midsummer and had the traditional midsummer meal which was really good. We did the mead tasting which was fun as well. The museum was very interesting and since we were there on Midsummer they did a Viking sacrifice which was cool to see. The ride in the museum was also well done and great for kids.
Overall it was a nice experience. There are guided tours in the museum which you can have in both English and Swedish depending on the session. What I most enjoyed was the ride at the end of the museum. It was a well-made ride and great experience for us. Please note that the ride might be really simulating for children under 3 years of age.
