Sure Hotel Esplanade

Wow... where to begin. So the rooms are ok, nothing great, but not horrible. Spacious but you feel like back in the 80s with the furniture and look of it.nnWhen you check in, you have to go to their higher end hotel about 300m away, not a huge deal unless it is raining and/or snowing since there are not close parking spots available, so you end up walking.nnBreakfast is offered and served in the same hotel you check in, at a juicy price of 125SEK per person. The offering is good though, the breakfast is good and has a decent amount to choose from.nnParking is another 160SEK per day.nnSo, important to keep in mind, if let's say a family of 4 were to stay there, you have to add: 125 x 4 + 160parking so 660SEK to the listed room price so that it becomes a fair comparison to the other hotels in the area. Example, right now as I write this the rate is 750sek per night or for a family of 4 about 1400sek per night. When you look at it from that angle, this place is NOT worth 1400sek per night.nnDo not recommend, will never stay there again.

OK room for a night. Room seemed tired & had a broken light. Sofa beds were well used and somewhat uncomfortable. Hot room with sadly no AC 1 fan for 4 bed room. Kettle but no tea or coffee. No hotel services on site, no bar. Parking costs extra, breakfast costs extra & is a walk away across town. Would not stay again.

Clean and functional room. With exception of staff member T’s response on August 13th, all the staff where very helpful. Since my last stay in april 2022 the prices had increased drastically whilst the hotel appeared ever more derilict. The window only open by a strange tool that you could borrow, cups and glasses as advertised for the steep increase in price , where regularly missing. In april I gave this hotel 5 stars.

Good breakfast. Clean room and attentive staff. Only real negative was the bed. Two single beds pushed together to make a double. Not that unusual in Sweden but there was nothing to keep the beds from sliding apart during the night. Very uncomfortable until we wedged my husband's flip-flops under the bed legs to keep them from sliding during the night.

Don't expect your towels or bedding to be cleaned during your stay. Despite the fact that I saw the trolley of towels, the linen cupboard being used, and the vacuum cleaner out each morning I left, and despite the fact that I placed the green card to indicate that my room should be cleaned, it never happened once during my 9-day stay.
