Clarion Hotel Stockholm

We stayed at this hotel expecting a true 4-star experience, but unfortunately our expectations were quite different from reality.nnThe first thing you notice when entering the hotel is a strong chlorine smell. The bathroom had a noticeable sewer odor, and even the towels smelled musty, which was quite unpleasant.nnThe rooms are fairly well soundproofed from neighboring rooms, but the bathroom offers absolutely no privacy. The bathroom door feels paper-thin, and you can hear literally everything happening inside.nnOn the positive side, the staff was very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic—very generous, with a wide variety of fresh and delicious options. It was definitely the highlight of the hotel.nnOverall, the hotel feels much cheaper than what you would expect from a 4-star property. While the excellent breakfast and kind staff make the stay more enjoyable, the unpleasant odors and lack of bathroom privacy significantly affected our experience.

I was unfortunately disappointed with the breakfast after my latest visit. Back in 2023 I had a wonderful vegan breakfast here which included even vegan sausages I’ve never seen those anywhere else. And since we also enjoyed the view, the location and the service in this hotel we thought we’d come back again. Now I am not so sure if we’ll come back although the staff and the hotel are lovely.

I stayed at the hotel for five days. The service was good. Breakfast was delicious. The hotel is clean and nicely decorated. After returning home, I realized I had brought bed bugs back with me. I stayed in room 5016. I hope the hotel reads this review and treats the room. That is why I am giving it a three-star rating.

I will change my hotel after 3 days here. Although the location was great, I am hoping to find a different experience elsewhere.nPros:n- convenient location right on the metro linen- central but not busy, clean neighbourhoodn- grocery store on the block, shops, green space and restaurants walking distancen- beautiful entrance and hotel lobby bar/restaurantn- friendly reception, check in process easyn- quiet rooms. Silent actually.n- nice linens, no fragrancen- great breakfast, expensive like all Swedish things buffet was extra - see if you can get it included with the booking you selectnCons:n- zero water pressure, just a trickle. A shower took almost an hour perhaps I’ll find out this is the norm here but it was untenable and unlike anything I’ve experienced in any other even moderate European hoteln- no opening windows; air con not expected but the dead air was stifling esp after a few daysn- room was euro small, which is fine, but if you book for 3, one of you will find yourself squished against the wall on a metal frame cotnnAll in all a decent stay but at the high price I would have expected at least not to have to schedule time to afford a shower.
