Scandic Malmen

I had a lovely stay and overall experience at Scandic Malmen. The highlight for me was definitely the location — right in the heart of Södermalm, making it incredibly convenient for exploring Stockholm’s vibrant atmosphere. Medborgarplatsen Metro Station is right next to the hotel, providing easy access to the city’s transport network. It is also not far from Gamla Stan, Stockholm’s charming Old Town. You can walk there in about 17 minutes 1.4 km or take the subway from Medborgarplatsen to Gamla Stan Metro Station, which takes just 3 min.nnThe Swedish buffet breakfast was another standout feature — great variety of traditional and international options. It was the perfect way to start the day! Tip: loved the ginger shot!nnI also tried the gym during my stay. While it’s quite a small space with only three pieces of fitness equipment, some mats, and various weights, it served its purpose for a quick workout, and it's usually not crowded in the morning. If you're looking for a full-fledged gym, this might not be ideal, but for basic exercise, it does the job.nnIn terms of price and quality, Scandic Malmen offers a reasonable balance. The rates are generally affordable compared to other central Stockholm hotels, making it a good value for money option. The rooms are comfortable, especially the bed, and the service is friendly.nnOverall, among the best options in Stockholm.

Went here on weekend. Hotel staffs are friendly. Wonderful breakfast split in several seating time. Restaurant has an extention so always can find seat. Location is at the centre, this also explain why you can hear the traffic from inside.

Hotel staff were helpful to us.nWe missed our flight.nGood location to some restaurants and close to supermarket. I wish I stay longer, not three nights. I did not see much of the city, I mostly went to museums. I want to take more metro.

Great location. It was manageable to walk with kids from the hotel to Djurgården and back through the old town. It became an activity for entire day, however, with 17,5 thousand steps our kids like to walk and explore.nnI’d say this is a party neighborhood, so it was quite bright and loud in the evenings but nothing that disturbed us.nnThe room was clean. The bed for kids was a sofa bed, it wasn’t the best. But the bed for the parents was nice and fluffy.nnBreakfast was nice but felt like something you would make at home on different occasions, but there it was served all at once.

Great location in central Sweden but also near some of the least touristy spots. The rooms are of good quality, the restaurant and breakfast buffet is also great. Staff are always friendly and flexible and have never not engaged with a request. Room service can be a bit pricey but overall the cost is pretty typical.
